ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NATURAL STONE

  1. What are the different stones available in tumbled finish?
     We currently have marble and travertine in tumbled finish. The marble is more expensive than the travertine.

  2. What is the antique finish?
     The antique finish is the same as the tumbled finish , simply different terminology.  
 
  3. What are the different finishes available in natural stone?
     Natural Stones such as granite and marble and travertine come in different finishes. The finishes are :
      polished, honed, brushed , flamed and tumbled.   

  4. I bought natural stone , do I need to seal it ?  
      Travertine and marble specially in light colors should be sealed. If the right sealer is used - you could seal
      every 5 years. In some case a granite would be sealed as well. 
 
  5. What are the areas you would recommend put natural stone ?
      The use of stone throughout the house is done in areas where weather permits. The use of natural stone
      in the bathroom is becoming more common. The use of natural stone in the bathroom will create a luxurious
      look that would last for years to come. The use of stone in the kitchen floor is fairly common too. However,
      is some case the use of wood in the kitchen would make better sense. 
 
  6. What is the cost of natural stone versus the alternative ?
      Natural stone is becoming more and more affordable. However , natural stone is still more expensive than
      pre-finished hardwood or laminate flooring. In the case of unfinished hardwood, the cost after finishing
      process is about the same.
